If so, our two-year nursing assistant training program might be right for you. The program’s academic and practical components will provide an in-depth look at this broad field of work.

Shortening Your Training
There are four ways to reduce your training time by one year:
1. Option:
You have successfully completed a two-year vocational course in nutrition, home economics, and care (or a similar course).
2. Option:
You have at least a Hauptschulabschluss (secondary school leaving certificate) or an equivalent level of education.
You have worked full-time as a care assistant for one year.
OR:
You have completed one year of full-time work in a care-related role as part of the Federal Voluntary Service.
OR:
You have worked as a volunteer in the care service of a civil protection organization for at least three years.
3. Option:
You have completed at least two years of vocational training and can provide evidence of at least three years of professional experience.
4. Option:
You have completed a two-year vocational training program and obtained a qualification in everyday care, comprising at least 160 teaching hours. You have also worked in everyday care for at least two years.

Theoretical Training:
During your training, you will learn about nursing and providing domestic care for children, adults, and senior citizens. Then, you will decide where you would like to work. Care assistants are employed in all areas of nursing and care, as well as in all age groups. Due to the high demand, there are many possibilities for your work assignments! After completing the training program, you have the opportunity to shorten the three-year generalist program by one year.
1,800 hours of theoretical lessons
Subjects include:
Occupational Area: Work and Relationship Processes, Supporting People, and Caring for People
Occupational area: English, German, math, politics, religion, and sports.
960 hours of practical work
Possible areas include:
Hospitals, care facilities, outpatient care services, and workshops for people with disabilities, among others. The focus is on caring for people of all ages.
Theory and practice alternate on a weekly basis.
Admission Requirements:
Individuals with a secondary school diploma or equivalent can be accepted into the nursing assistant training program.
After successfully completing the program, graduates can enroll in the second year of training to become a nursing assistant.
Costs/Funding Opportunities:
The nursing assistant training program is tuition-free!
There are also various funding options, such as through the Agentur für Arbeit or Schüler-BAföG. We will be happy to advise you individually.
