Training Programme

Since 1 January 2020, training courses in geriatric nursing, healthcare nursing and paediatric nursing have been combined into a generalised nursing training course.

Hospitals, care homes for the elderly and outpatient care services can act as providers of practical training. Other areas of nursing care are covered through compulsory internships during the training programme.

Training as a nursing specialist

Demand for personnel is growing, and career and training opportunities are becoming more diverse.

The future is looking bright for those looking for a diverse, modern career with plenty of prospects.
The need for care in Germany is set to rise sharply in the coming decades. In Lower Saxony, one in four people are already over 60, while only one in five are under 18.
According to projections by the Lower Saxony Office for Statistics and Communication, this ratio will have shifted considerably by 2050. There will be twice as many older people as children. You can secure your future by training as a carer or taking part in a qualification programme. Any further training you complete with our cooperation partner, ZAB Hannover, is an investment in your future.

Demand for personnel is growing, as are the career and training opportunities.
Carers already make up the largest occupational group within the healthcare system, and job vacancies in this sector are increasing.

The increasing number of people in need of care, new findings in care science and the implementation of modern care concepts require ever higher qualifications. The demand for well-trained carers is increasing.
