Our Training at a glance
Theoretical training
During your training, you will complete at least
2.400 teaching hours
Lessons take place in practical learning environments. You will learn how professional care works through real-life workplace scenarios.

Theory and practical phases alternate in blocks lasting several weeks – so you can apply your knowledge straight away.
Practical Training
The practical training includes at least:
2.500 practical hours
You will gain experience in various areas of care and discover the diversity of the care profession.
Your first placement will be with your training organisation, for example in:
- a care home
- an outpatient care service
- a hospital
You will then undertake the following compulsory placements:

The work placements are planned by the school in collaboration with your training company
Practical Training & Support
You will receive guidance and support throughout every work placement.
At least 10% of your working hours will be spent under the guidance of specially trained practical instructors.
This is underpinned by our joint practical training curriculum, developed by the school and the training company – ensuring that theory and practice are perfectly aligned.
Your Qualification
The training programme concludes with a state examination, comprising:
a written exam
a practical exam
an oral exam
