Topping-out ceremony for new school building

On Friday 11 April 2025, representatives from the PflegeFachSchule Hannover (PFSH), Hahne Holding and the construction companies involved celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the new school building at the Heidehaus site. This event marked a significant milestone in the project’s construction progress, which aims to create much-needed capacity for nursing training.

In the future, the new school building will train generalist nursing professionals. Another location is also under construction in Garbsen-Berenbostel. By expanding the nursing school to two locations, we are responding to the growing demand for qualified nursing staff. A total of around 575 training places will be created to meet labour market and nursing needs.

PFSH is now one of the largest nursing schools in Lower Saxony, training both nursing professionals and nursing assistants. The new locations will strengthen the training programme in the long term and relieve the burden on the nursing infrastructure.

The topping-out ceremony symbolises the progress made in construction and the joint commitment of everyone involved to sustainable nursing training. Training operations in the new premises are scheduled to begin next year, thus making a significant contribution to securing nursing care in the region.
