Topping-out ceremony for new school building

On Friday, 11 April 2025, representatives of the PflegeFachSchule Hannover (PFSH), Hahne Holding and the construction companies involved celebrated the ‘topping-out ceremony’ for the new school building on the Heidehaus site. This event marks a significant milestone in the construction progress of the project, which aims to create urgently needed capacity for nursing training.

In future, trainees will be trained as generalist nursing specialists in the new school building. A further location is also being built in Garbsen-Berenbostel. By expanding the nursing school at two locations, we are responding to the increasing demand for qualified nursing staff. A total of around 575 training places are to be created in order to meet the requirements of the labour market and nursing needs.

PFSH is currently a large nursing school in Lower Saxony and trains both nursing staff and nursing assistants. The new locations will strengthen the training programme in the long term and make an important contribution to relieving the burden on the care infrastructure.

The topping-out ceremony not only symbolises the construction progress, but also the joint commitment of all those involved to future-proof nursing training. The new premises are set to start training operations next year, making a significant contribution to securing nursing care in the region.
