Students from India start at PFSH

On Sunday, 30 March, the time had come: twelve motivated young women from India were warmly welcomed at Hanover Airport by the company training coordinator. They are starting their three-year training programme to become nurses at PFSH.

The training programme started just two days later. To make the start easier, the training company organised comprehensive onboarding in the first week. The new trainees not only received important information about training and life in Germany, but also gained an initial insight into their future working environment.

The Indian nursing staff are recruited in close cooperation with a language school in India. There, the prospective trainees learn German before they move to Europe – a decisive advantage for successfully familiarising themselves with the complex content of nursing training. The cooperation with the language school has been in place since 2023 and has proven to be extremely successful. Since then, numerous students have been able to start their nursing training with us via this route.

It also became clear that there is potential for optimisation: visa regulations often only allow entry one day before the start of training. A settling-in period to familiarise themselves with the new environment, culture and life in Europe would be very important. We hope that a political solution will be found soon that gives future trainees more lead time. A longer transition period would be particularly important for young people who are living far away from their family and home for the first time.

We warmly welcome our new trainees, wish them a successful training period and a good start to their future in the nursing profession!
