Students from India start at PFSH

On Sunday, March 30, the big day arrived: Twelve motivated young women from India were warmly welcomed at Hanover Airport by the company’s training coordinator. They are beginning their three-year training program to become nursing professionals at PFSH.

Just two days later, the training program kicked off. To make the transition easier, the training company organized a comprehensive onboarding program during the first week. The new trainees not only received important information about the training program and life in Germany, but also gained initial insights into their future working environment.

The Indian nursing staff are recruited in close cooperation with a language school in India. There, the prospective trainees learn German before moving to Europe – a decisive advantage for successfully getting to grips with the complex content of nursing training. The cooperation with the language school has been in place since 2023 and has proven to be extremely successful. Numerous students have already been able to start nursing training with us in this way.

However, there is also clear potential for optimization: visa regulations often only allow entry one day before the start of training. A settling-in period to familiarize oneself with the new environment, culture, and life in Europe would be very important. We hope for a political solution soon that will give future trainees more lead time. A longer transition period would be particularly important for young people who are living far away from their families and homes for the first time.
