The provision
of a continuous structure provides those affected with the security they need in everyday life. To meet this need, care insurance funds finance an additional carer for every resident who requires 24/7 care and has significant general care needs.
Qualifying as a care support worker in accordance with Section 53b of the Eleventh Book of the Social Code (SGB XI) enables you to provide elderly people with empathetic and holistic care in an inpatient setting.

The new version of the directive, in accordance with Section 53b of the Social Code XI, dated 21 October 2022, has been taken into account.
The nine-week part-time qualification in accordance with § 53b comprises 162 teaching hours and 80 internship hours in total. The course is organised as follows:
1. Introduction day
2. Orientation internship
(two weeks, 40 hours)
3. Theory block 1
(114 teaching hours)
4. Internship
(two weeks, 40 hours)
5. Theory block 2
(42 teaching hours)
Lessons take place from 8:00 am to 1:20 pm. Working hours during the internship are arranged on an individual basis.
Admission requirements:
An internship of 40 hours must be completed before the start of the course.
Costs/support options:
The costs of qualifying as a care support worker are:
€1,038.42.
Payment in instalments (three instalments of €346.14 each) can be arranged.
Funding from the Federal Employment Agency in the form of an education voucher is possible.
Completion:
Upon successfully completing the course, you will receive a certificate for “Care Support Worker according to § 53b”.
This qualification meets the requirements of § 53b of the Eleventh Book of the Social Code (SGB XI).
